Quick glossary — what these terms mean
Exposure
How long each frame is captured for. Longer = more light, but EQ mode is needed past ~15s to keep stars sharp.
Gain
Brightness amplification (0–100). Higher = brighter image but more noise. Most users start around 60.
Filter — VIS / Astro / Duo-Band
VIS for Moon and planets. Astro for galaxies and clusters under dark skies. Duo-Band cuts light pollution and moonlight, best for emission nebulae like M42.
EQ Mode
Equatorial tracking — rotates the field to follow the sky so long exposures stay sharp. Required for any exposure longer than ~15 seconds.
Frames
How many exposures were stacked. More frames = cleaner final image. 60–150 is a typical session.
Bortle Class
How dark the sky is, 1 (pristine) to 9 (inner city). Dark countryside ≈ 3, suburban garden ≈ 6, bright city ≈ 8. Skip if unsure.

Decimals OK. Examples: 0.0167 = 1/60 s · 0.5 = 1/2 s · 30 = 30 seconds. Enter exposure in seconds (0.0005–3600)
Brightness amplification. Try 60 to start; raise for faint targets. Enter gain between 0 and 100

How many frames you stacked. Typical session: 60–150.
How dark your sky is. Skip if you don't know.
Moon phase, cloud, transparency — whatever shaped the night.
High moon & broadband filter on emission targets triggers a hint in the report.
